multi-camera batch render (mcbr)

mcbr.ls is a free Generic LScript for LightWave 6.5b - 7.x          (PC / Mac)

mcbr provides an easy-to-use solution for switched-camera rendering in LightWave.   mcbr writes a separate scene file for each rendered camera range.  It also writes a batch file for stand-alone Screamernet rendering.  The user has the option of running the batch file (for rendering on a single machine) or loading the script-generated scene files into the Network Rendering (Screamernet) interface for distributed rendering over a network.

Quickstart

Set up your scene for rendering.

Run mcbr.ls.  To make sure that mcbr has your latest changes, it will save the current scene so you will probably see a warning message:

Clear the message by answering "Yes" and you will get the user interface:

Set the frame ranges that you want to render for each camera.

Notes

  • The file render.bat will be created in the same folder as the original scene file.
  • If you choose to use the batch file, run it from the machine on which it was created.
  • The segment scene files generated by mcbr will be created in the same folder as the original scene file and will have the segment number appended to the filename, e.g., scene.lws with two render segments will result in scene_segment_1.lws and scene_segment_2.lws.
  • UNC and mapped network drives are supported.

mcbr is free software, but if you would like to help defray the cost of development and help to keep free and inexpensive tools for LightWave coming, consider a small donation.  You decide on the amount, if any.  Thanks!  Even small donations ( $5 ) are helpful.
